White Pug:

Feeding & Nutrition:
This small breed of dog is very fond to take food. If the human companion is the first choice, then the second will be food.
They can take so much food which can cause them easier to gain weight and make obese. Every animal’s need for food depends on age, size, metabolic strength, and physical activity.
A normal pug of average weight needs ½ to 1 cup of quality food per day, divided into two times. Before any change in diet, one should obviously consult with a veterinarian.
Grooming:
As a small breed, this dog has a short coat covering which is smooth, glossy, and double coated. It needs minimal maintenance with love and care.
Bathing can be done once a month or it can be 2-3 times in a month depending on the cleanliness of the dog or prevent doggy smell with good dog shampoo.
This pug’s facial skin is wrinkled and placed folded which can cause infection due to lack of proper cleanliness of dirt or dumpy condition.
During bathing, these wrinkled folds should be cleaned properly and dry them. The gap between bathing folds should be wiped and cleaned properly.
Weekly brushing with a medium-bristle brush or a hound glove helps to remove the loose hair and maintain minimum shed.
Regular nail trimming is very important otherwise it may cause pain when walking, running, or playing.
Their eyes should be cleaned carefully as their eyes are big are protrude, there is a very common chance of getting injured or inflamed. Because of their affection for food, they are very susceptible to gum diseases. Regular teeth brushing with a soft brush can help to prevent this problem.
Training:
The white pugs are good learners. They adapt their master’s command very quickly. So train the dog properly so that they become polite and loyal. As a food lover and easily gain weight.
They have to train for daily exercise that will reduce the percentage of overweight. The white pugs require 40 minutes of exercise daily and divide the period into two sessions and also allow to take rest in between them.
Health Issues:
The white pug breed has major health problems like breathing difficulty as they are a brachycephalic breed. Their flat, wrinkled, folded face is responsible for that.
They are very prone to corneal ulcers, dryness, and proptosis due to the large, big-sized, protruded eyes.
They are very commonly suffering from hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, patellar luxation, Stenotic Nares, obesity, allergies, etc.
In the later stage of life, they may be suffering from nerve denegation, Pug Dog Encephalitis. The albino white pugs suffer from two unique diseases, one is photophobia and another is skin cancer due to their albinism.
In the case of photophobia, they can’t tolerate direct sunlight which may produce sunburn and irritation in the sky.
Skin cancer is caused due to lack of melanin to protect their skin from UV radiation from the sun. So the direct exposure to the sun should be limited to prevent photophobia and skin cancer.
This pug breed becomes overweight very easily, to prevent this condition proper diet plan is needed with some regular physical exercise.
